Arched Kerto Beams



The concept arises from the idea of arching a beam of the Kerto type, like an bow in a tense position and using this situation to solve those engineering challenges to overcome big lights or heights. When arched beams are built from a mold, these beams are not working with tension that works a tensed bow. It is proposed to use the tensioned Kerto beams by bending them as a wooden bridge support. In this example the support structure is formed by a pair of 3 arched and crossed Kerto beams at their highest points. From the 9 produced crosses will be hung steel tendons to hang the wooden bridge. The structure of the bridge would be supported in the central area of the bridge length. It would also be possible to construct a wooden bridge that rests on a group of arched beams of Kerto as shown in the PDF. I suggest using the resistance of the tensile beams to use them to solve high and slender structures such as, for example, building tall buildings, as in the image. In all cases, Kerto beams should be protected with special weathering products and paints.
