Floors consisting of timber beams + a concrete top slab are becoming more and more common. Commonly they are made from glulam and connected with diagonal screws. This costs a lot of labor. This shear connection could also be made by cutting notches in a Kerto beams and pouring concrete around these notches. This takes advantage of the following Kerto properties: - High tensile strength makes for a good tension beam - Strong and stiff notches give good composite action - Kerto-Q panels can be used as formwork.
