Description

The Rib Beam is based in the concept of tensioned wood, in this case using strips of plywood. This beam has two advantages for its design: 1) floor included 2) aesthetics. The body of the beam is formed by three principal sectors: the superior zone conformed by a floor sector ( 60 cm wide) and two lateral cavities where the plywood strips are inserted. This zone works to compression. The inferior zone is compossed by one beam with a cavity to receive the strips and this is working to traction. The third sector is compossed by the tensioned strips and conects the superior and inferior sectors. The tensioned strips are in an “alive” situation taking profit of that, and giving more resistance to the beam. These beams already come with a section of floor formed with Plywood and are ready to leave the floor closed. It has a joining system to join to each other, to then screw to give unity to the floor structure.
