Hybrid Massive Wall is a prefabricated wall element build with Kerto LVL.
The main application is in Concrete multi-storey buildings, the main structure, columns and floors are traditionally built with concrete and the exterior façades with bricks and blocks. Idea is to remove only those external walls with Kerto LVL Massive wall elements.
The level of prefabrication could be high including insulation, external cladding or coating, internal plasterboard and even the windows.
The connection to the concrete structure is enabled by “L wood “ linear pieces to compensate possible tolerances between the wooden wall element and the main concrete structure.
Kerto LVL S-Beams or T-Studs and Kerto-Q or L panels are designed to support the horizontal loads (wind) and vertical (dead load of the panel).
Element is more sustainable with low carbon materials and reduce energy consumption for heating. Very flexible on dimensions, it can be adapted to different architectures or standardized in dimensions for reproductible concepts.
The Kerto Wall is composed of two different Kerto elements; Kerto LVL Q-panels (thickness 51 mm or 45 mm) this panels are oriented vertically and cover all the close surfaces, Kerto LVL S-Studs to support the windows opening, and frame to fix the different Q- panels together and fix to the “L wood” support
Hybrid constructions may open new ways to improve sustainability globally. Finding new elements or building systems integrating partly wood that suit traditional construction is an important topic for which we need to share local ideas and innovations. Reducing fossil based solutions by adding bio-based material such as Kerto LVL will enable faster, lighter and greener constructions.
