Kerto LVL Wall details

In Kerto Wall panels, 80% of the veneers run in the vertical direction. This allows load-bearing wall elements with a very thin thickness. This translates directly into more interior space for the use, stiff elements and perfect off site prefabrication because of big sizes . As you can take basic sizes on stock, it allows flexibility for the carpenter/ builders to compose elements of different sizes and projects. Because of the cross veneers, there is a great freedom in making openings in the wall without much additional cost or the requirement for lintels. Basicly there are two versions: A massive one (39/45/51mm) and a Timber frame version with LVL studs and a panel. This gives space of insulation and installations.

Key benefit

Very Stiff panels for load bearing wall solutions

Material list

one material for whole building: Floors, roofs and walls.

Ecological values

Minimum need of basic raw materials -> efficiënt use of wood; High grade of prefabrication possible -> positive influence on nitrogen emissions (+ saving labour) Wood is circular

  • Economical span (mm)
  • Thickness (mm) 63
  • Airbourne sound reduction factor (dB)
  • Impact sound transmission (dB)
  • Resistance to fire class 30 R
  • Thermal properties

  • It is also possible to achieve R60 with thicker panels (75 mm and 84 mm)
  • I see great advantages in the bracing as well! Good opportunity for 1-2 storey building, or light-weight building upon existing buildings.
  • A very efficient idea to use mainly solid LVL panels as walls with insulation tot he outside. The details include the main solutions for putting a building together. The details are very clear and easy to read.
