1% waste

Description

The designed panel works as a truss structure. The Kerto LVL panels are cut: Kerto LVL panel (2.5x15) = ax4 = bx5 From a and b pieces are created large panels (4.2 x 15) = ax2 + bx6 For additional strength can be used wider connection panels of the rectangular shape. For 10 large panels 4,2m x 15.0m: 17 panels of Kerto LVL 2.5m x 15.0m. The percentage of wasted material is 1% (the amount of waste material from the saw is also calculated and is within 1%).

Idea is simple, yet effective. It offers also potential to adjust the wall size depending the need. Panel connection can be done as proposed with extra piece. Other options are at least making half-lap (more waste) or steel plates.

This is a great idea. It is simple, efficient, modular. The height of the wall can vary just as the beams above to suit the wall situation. A very efficient way to create large LVL panels. The exact joint geometry needs considering for stability an production, though.

The idea looks simple and efficient... A good one I'd say. Even more, top and bottom chord could be thicker beam, so that the entire wall is a king-size I-beam. What do you think?
