FULL-SHELL LVL MODULE

Description

Universal scaleable full-shell module to fullfill the needs of building units from cabins to highrise buildings.

Key benefit

Carbon footprint reduction

Material list

KERTO® LVL Q-PANEL 21mm, 51mm and 75mm.
KERTO® LVL S-beams 45x200mm, 51x250mm, 75x400mm.
KERTO® LVL wedges made from production remains.

Ecological values

Reducing overall carbon footprint of a building. Potenital for plastic (vapor barrier) free constructions. Producing structure just in one material makes it easier to recycle in the future.

Reviews

  • The system is very well thought through and combines traditional carpentry techniques with modern engineered wood products like LVL. The simplicity of the floor joist to the wall connection allows for a quick installation once the elements are machined. A modern method of manufacture with CNC driven technology can achieve the machining in reasonable time scales allowing for industrialized production set-up. The vertical wall to wall connection reduces the amount of natural settlement and emphasizes the advantages of engineered wood products. At the same time the system allows for the tolerances on site and is adaptable to different types of construction systems.
  • Presented system offers good method to create large wall panels and combine it to floors and roofs. It shows innovative idea to work with limited panel sizes and to overcome the limitations while reducing material waste. I think there is still opportunity to consider inclined screw connections for the construction as well.
  • I'd assume the idea is to plug such modules into a primary structure, isn't it? It sounds clever. It's also great development to have only a few steel pieces in the connections (tongue and groove, joist supports..). It would be nice to have an idea of the primary structure of the tower (maybe a zoom from the legend picture?). Have you checked how many of such modules could superimpose? And by the way, have you thought to participate our OSW challenge on LVL connection?
