Modular Star


The proposal is situated on a corner plot in Glasgow’s West End. It has a commercial ground floor, high-density apartments above and communal eating and living areas on the top floor. The main structure is formed by a series of ‘star’ supports constructed using Kerto LVL Q panels.

Ecological values

Timber is used for wall panels, stud walls, windows and roofs reducing the need for components with high embodied energy. The main timber structure is simple and therefore is adaptable to changing uses and a long-lasting building.
